SCOTT GETS 1-HITTER, WIN OVER PIRATES
SINGLE HIT IN THE 8TH

Mike Scott pitched no-hit ball for seven innings and finished with a one-hitter, while Bill Doran knocked in all of Houston's runs, leading the Astros to a 3-0 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates Friday night.

Scott, 6-2, didn't allow a hit until Glenn Wilson led off the eighth with a single to center field. He is the the fifth major-league pitcher to throw a one-hitter this season.Scott retired the first 19 batters before he walked Rafael Belliard with one out in the seventh to lose his perfect game. Scott got out of the inning by getting Andy Van Slyke to pop out to third baseman Ken Caminiti and Bobby Bonilla struck out.

Scott finished with six strikeouts and two walks. Bob Walk, 4-3, gave up five hits in seven-plus innings and got the loss.

Houston took a 2-0 lead on Doran's triple to the center field fence, scoring Billy Hatcher and Craig Reynolds. Hatcher walked and Reynolds singled prior to Doran's hit.
