Salt Lake police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found Friday on railroad tracks next to some loading docks.
The body was found about 8:30 a.m. at 450 W. First South. The man's identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, who are apparently out of state. The man appeared to have suffered head injuries; the Utah Medical Examiner's office will perform an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
Lt. Norm Thompson said the man was "dressed much differently from most transients. His clothes were a little nicer and he was a little cleaner."
Officers were questioning five transients who may have seen what happened, Thompson said.
