Y. WINS HCAC CUP FOR 7TH YEAR IN A ROW

For the seventh straight year, BYU has been awarded the High Country Athletic Conference Cup.

The HCAC Cup is given yearly to the conference member earning the highest average point total based on overall balance within the athletic program.BYU retained the Cup with a 5.813 average score out of 7.0 points possible for each of eight championships in which the school competed. New Mexico was second (5.111), Utah was third (4.889), Wyoming and Colorado State were tied for fourth (4.50), New Mexico State was sixth (3.75) and Utah State was seventh (3.167).

BYU, the only school to have won the HCAC Cup in the seven-year history of the conference, placed first in cross country, tennis and track and field, and was second in swimming, gymnastics and volleyball (tie).
