2 POLICEMEN CLEARED

Two Ogden police officers acted correctly when they fired 27 shots at a man who reportedly fired at one of them during a domestic dispute last week, police investigators determined.

A three-member Police Shooting Review Board announced Friday that Officers George Kruitbosch and Scott McGregor acted within federal guidelines, state laws and departmental policy when they shot at 34-year-old Michael George Martin as he stood with a gun on the porch of his home."After examining the photographs of the scene, talking with both officers and discussing all aspects of the situation, it is the conclusion of the board that Officers Kruitbosch and McGregor were justified and compelled to use deadly force against Mr. Martin," the panel's report stated.

No one was hurt during the shoot-out, which began at 11:44 p.m. May 12.
