Japan's late emperor, Hirohito, left an estate of $15.4 million in stocks and savings. Those assets will be split among his son, the new emperor, Akihito, and his wife, the Empress Dowager Nagako. Hirohito's estate would have been worth billions more if reforms imposed on Japan after the war had not stripped him of his real estate holdings.
