The Davis County Horseowners Association has named new officers for the coming year and is seeking new members.

The new officers include: Don Sides, president; Kenny Williams, south vice president; Laurie Sides, treasurer and membership director; Steven Campbell, secretary; and Kari Byington, publicity director.The organization has almost 300 members and are seeking people to join their group. The group was responsible for building an equestrian park at the new Davis County Fairgrounds including thousands of dollars of donated labor and supplies.

The group also sponsors trail rides, promotes 4-H clubs and posse clubs and publishes a newsletter.

Upcoming activities include a 4-H Novice Horse Show on Saturday, May 27, at 8:30 a.m and a 4-H "Fun Saturday" on Saturday, June 3, at 8:30 a.m.

The group will also sponsor 4-H Horse Shows on June 12, 26; July 10, 31; and Aug. 7 and 14. All shows begin at 6 p.m.

The 4-H practices Monday and Friday nights at the equestrian park. The Turn Star Rides practice Wednesday nights and the Davis County Sheriff's Posse on Thursday nights.
