Former Bountiful City Councilman Warde L. Tolman died Monday, May 1, 1989, at his Bountiful home of cancer. He was 74.

Mr. Tolman served four council terms from 1964 through 1980 - a time of considerable growth and development in Bountiful.He was a former superintendent of the Weber Basin Pipeline and the Bountiful Water Department. As a councilman, he served as the council representative for the Planning and Zoning Commission and the Water and Sewer Committee.

He married Elizabeth Whitaker, July 3, 1934, in the Salt Lake Temple.

Mr. Tolman was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in a bishopric and filling two stake missions and a full-time mission with his wife to Independence, Mo.

He was also active in the Rotary Club.

Funeral will be Friday noon in the Bountiful Tabernacle, 51 S. Main. Friends may call at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 N. Main, Thursday 6-8 p.m. and at the church from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in the Bountiful City Cemetery.
