The chief judge in the trial of confessed TWA hijacker Mohammed Ali Hamadi said Friday the proceedings will not be influenced by the latest kidnappings of West Germans in Lebanon.

A Palestinian guerrilla officer in southern Lebanon said the latest incident was linked to the trial of Hamadi, a Shiite Moslem on trial for the June 1985 hijacking of a TWA jetliner to Beirut."It has already been said several times that the work of the court cannot be influenced by such events," Chief Judge Heiner Mueckenberger said in a brief telephone interview.

Hamadi is on trial in Frankfurt in connection with the hijacking of the TWA Flight 847 on June 14, 1985, in which U.S. Navy diver Robert Stethem was killed and 39 Americans were held hostage for 17 days.
