A new publication designed to help business, particularly small employers in Utah and five other states in the Rocky Mountain Region, understand and comply with major federal labor laws and regulations is now available from the U.S. Department of Labor.

Titled "Major Laws Administered by the U.S. Department of Labor Which Affect Business," the free booklet describes in non-technical language the provisions of such laws as the Job Training Partnership Act, Fair Labor Standards Act, Occupational Safety and Health Act and the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.The booklet describes 20 laws and regulations, lists the agency within the department responsible for administering the law and gives a local or regional address and phone number where employers can get more detailed information.

Some of the laws described apply to all businesses and others apply to those businesses working under government contracts and subcontracts.
