An overnight plane ride or a long train trip often can cause lower back and neck discomfort.
Since most seats are designed for space needs, it is up to you to modify the chair for comfortable seating, says the Travel & Leisure Information Center.Try placing a small pillow, a rolled- up towel or a blanket in the hollow of your back to keep it from flattening out. A modified pelvic tilt - putting your hands on your hips and pushing your pelvis forward - will also help.
Then, place a smaller pillow or towel behind your neck and recline your chair to help alleviate neck discomfort. Finally, get up at least once every hour and move around.
