The BYU women's tennis team is among the 20 squads chosen to play in the 1989 NCAA team championships May 10-14, and three Cougar players have been picked for the individual championships May 15-18.
Hosting the 9-day tournament is the University of Florida in Gainesville.The Cougar team, seeded 12th, received a first-round bye, and will begin play against eighth-seeded Oklahoma State Thursday. OSU is ranked No. 1 in the Central Region and BYU follows at No. 2.
Cougar players chosen for the individual championships are Mary Beth Young, Susanna Lee and Michelle Taylor in singles, and Young and Taylor in doubles.
