Utah and BYU wrap up their WAC baseball schedules when they meet Wednesday at 2 p.m. on the Ute diamond.

Utah, 10-17 in the WAC and 17-31 overall, is hoping to split the four-game WAC series with the Cougars. Utah won the first meeting 7-3, but lost 8-2 and 16-13 in Provo last week. BYU also beat the Utes in a non-conference game, 11-9.The Cougars, 20-7 and 42-14, are in first place in the conference and ranked No. 17 nationally by Collegiate Baseball and No. 25 by Baseball America. They play four non-league games against No. 3-ranked Wichita State beginning Thursday. Then the Cougars will move on to the WAC playoffs in Hawaii, May 18-20.

BYU will start John DeSilva, 13-2, for the Cougars while Utah will counter with Craig Sudbury, 7-6. DeSilva was named Coppertone National Player of the Week by Collegiate Baseball after striking out 15 Utah players and 10 San Diego State players last week.
