SHARE 3 MEETINGS PLANNED IN S. UTAH ON GUARD’S TRAINING EXERCISES

A series of public meetings on the planned training exercises of the Utah National Guard's 19th Special Forces will be conducted June 5, 6 and 7 at three different locations in southern Utah.

The special forces group will conduct the exercises July 8-22 in the mountains of Garfield, Iron and Washington counties. Spokesman Reece Stein said the groups will be testing their ability to "conduct unconventional warfare operations."Stein said the exercises will include simulated attacks on power sources, dams and radar installations.

The meetings will be conducted at 7 p.m. June 5 at the Panguitch City Council Chambers; 7 p.m. June 6 in Cedar City Council Chambers; and 7 p.m. June 7 at Enterprise High School's Little Theater.

Maj. Larry Beathers, civil affairs officer of the 19th Special Forces, will attend each of the meetings.
