Police began barring sun-worshipers and modern nomads from getting within 4 miles of Stonehenge Saturday under an order issued to prevent a repeat of last year's rioting near the ancient monument during summer solstice, police said.

Police also said they were watching more than 60 campsites on the borders of Wiltshire, southwest of London, determined to stop the annual ritual at the ancient monument June 21.Local residents barricaded entrances to their fields to prevent people from camping out on their property, said the Travelers Aid Trust, a charity set up to help Britain's "travelers," people who have no permanent address.
