Performing at a level that belied its status as the heavy favorite, Harvard outdistanced Yale by 38 seconds Saturday to win the 124th Yale-Harvard Regatta.
Harvard crossed the finish line in 19 minutes 15.3 seconds while Yale finished in 19:53.6.Harvard's finish was the second-fastest winning time in Regatta history since the race moved to the Thames River in 1878. The Crimson set the record with a 18:22.4 finish in 1980.
Harvard took the freshmen and junior varsity races to claim its second straight Regatta sweep.
It was the Crimson's fifth straight Regatta win and its 23rd in 27 years since Harry Parker became head coach in 1963.
