SHARE EX-BRIGHTON SOFTBALL PLAYER LEADS GOPHERS

Former Brighton High star Kathy Casull led the University of Minnesota women's softball team in hitting for the second straight year despite being injured for 21 games. Casull hit .298 this season and compiled a fielding percentage of .956. During her four-year career with the Gophers, she started in 183 of 188 games she played in, ranking her fourth on the all-time games-played list. Her 121 career hits ranks her 11th all-time, and her 534 assists is a Minnesota record.

Casull was also named to the Big Ten All-Academic team for two straight years, and was named to the National GTE/COSIDA Academic All-American team twice. An honors biology major, she has a 3.46 grade-point average.
