Three people are dead and two others are in critical condition from injuries suffered in four separate traffic accidents.

Tamara Staples, 17, West Valley

Matthew D. Hutchison, 6, Orem

Hutchison was struck and killed by a pickup truck Friday night while riding a bike in front of his home.

He died at 7 p.m., at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, approximately three hours after being struck by a pickup driven by Craig Cullimore, 37, Orem.

Cullimore was eastbound when the boy entered 20th North from behind a parked car, Orem police spokesman Gerald Nielsen said. He said Cullimore was unable to stop in time to avoid the accident. The victim is the son of Steve and Karen Hutchison. No citations were issued.

Beck was driving a pickup truck on U-40 near Strawberry Reservoir when his vehicle drifted off the road and rolled at about 3:45 a.m. Saturday. Beck and a passenger, David Cobbley, 27, Magna, were thrown from the truck.

According to a Utah Highway Patrol spokesman, Beck died at the scene and Cobbley was transported to the University of Utah Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition Saturday afternoon.

Staples died Friday night from injuries she suffered in a Thursday night hit and run incident.

She was crossing the street near Eighth West and 13th South about 10:40 p.m. when a vehicle struck her and fled the scene. Police are looking for a blue Pontiac Sunbird in connection with the accident.

Linda Klemm remained in critical condition Saturday night at LDS Hospital from injuries she suffered Friday afternoon in a traffic accident near the State Capitol.
