Former Green Bay Packers defensive end Willie Davis said he was interviewed by a committee seeking an NFL commissioner, and said he would like to succeed Pete Rozelle.

"I'm very definitely interested, without a doubt," Davis said in a copyright story in Thursday's editions of the Racine Journal Times.Rozelle told the league March 23 he would resign after 30 years as commissioner.

Other candidates for the job reportedly include Jim Finks, New Orleans Saints general manager; former congressman Jack Kemp, secretary of the Department Housing and Urban Development, and NFL attorney Paul Tagliabue.
