-Lynn Berryhill and Nicholas Bonner, two Utah artists whose works have received national acclaim, will open Park City's Old Town Gallery summer season with a joint exhibition that runs from July 1-30. The pubic is invited to an opening reception Saturday, July 1, from 3-7 p.m. at the gallery, 444 Main St. in Park City.

Berryhill's paintings of florals and southern Utah desert scenes have been shown in galleries in Utah, California, Arizona and Wyoming and in private and corporate exhibitions throughout the country. Her acrylic and watercolor "feather" paintings possess an abstract, impressionistic quality as well as portraying vivid images of specific desert canyons and landscapes.

Berryhill, born in Iowa, was raised in Utah and studied painting and sculpture at the University of Utah, College of Marin and Sonoma State University in California and privately with Bruce Lauritzen and Richard Miller. She lives and works in Springdale at the entrance of Zion National Park.

A Logan resident, Bonner received a bachelor of fine arts in ceramics from Alfred University in New York and a master of fine arts in ceramics from Ohio University. He is an assistant professor at Utah State University and has also taught at Weber State College and Ohio University among others.

Bonner is particularly noted for his series of whimsical acrylic on ceramic sculptures, several of which will be shown at Old Town Gallery. The bright colors and fanciful shapes of these pieces evoke a quality of youthful exuberance, simultaneously suggesting a feeling of mythical surrealism.
