Food service workers, custodians, secretaries and other classified employees in the Alpine School District will receive base salary increases of 3 percent plus 5 cents an hour in 1989-90.
The Alpine School District Board of Education approved the raise Tuesday evening. The district and the employees association were able to negotiate an agreement in a "straightforward way," according to Steven Baugh, district superintendent."I extend appreciation to both groups for an excellent set of meetings," Baugh said.
The board agreed to pay a bonus of 3 percent of the 1988-89 salary for those employees who will be over the salary schedule in 1989-90 year. Also, the board will pay classified staff the same hourly rate as certified staff when they perform extracurricular activity supervision.
