An Ogden man has been bound over to stand trial for the stabbing death of his friend after the suspect supposedly made a pass at the victim's wife.
Greg Cardenas, 29, is charged with second-degree murder for the stabbing death of Jeffrey A. Ellis, 26, also of Ogden. Second Circuit Judge Pam Heffernan set a June 16 date for Cardenas to enter a plea in 2nd District Court.Prosectors said Ellis went to Cardenas' house on April 30 and accused the defendant of making a pass at his wife. A fight ensued and Ellis was stabbed outside the house. Ellis died of stab wounds to the torso a short time later at a local hospital.
