-The NEH Museum of Art in Logan will be featuring works by two well-known American potters during the summer.
The first ceramist, Woody Hughes of New York, is currently exhibiting his works in the museum's Foyer Gallery, where they will remain through July 1. Hughes will present a gallery talk at 3:30 p.m. June 14.The second potter, Christine Federighi, will exhibit her ceramics in the museum July 11 through Aug. 13. Her gallery talk has been set for 3:30 p.m. July 16.

-Artspace will host an evening of "Italian Splendor" on June 9 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the new Baci Restaurant on Pierpont Avenue. Open to the public, the event will feature Italian food and a presentation on the history of famous art studios throughout the world. Cost is $15 per person.
Specializing in northern Italian cuisine, Baci is the latest international restaurant to open in the Pierpont District. It is located in the old Salt Lake City High School Building on Pierpont Avenue and is owned by Gastronomy Inc.
"The burgeoning Pierpont Cultural District is an example of inner city planning at its optimum," said Stephen A. Goldsmith, Artspace executive director. "Our purpose in hosting this public event is to showcase this area to people as a source of pride for them."
-The Utah Arts Council's seventh annual Statewide Conference has been scheduled for June 8-10 at the University Park Hotel. Titled "A New Look '89," the conference will focus on the national trend toward broadening the base of participation in and support for the arts. Registration for the full three days is $80. The cost is $45 for a two-day block, including conference materials, two lunches and one night's stay at the hotel. -A refurbishing project began several weeks ago at the Springville Museum of Art, thanks to a generous grant from Stouffer's Foods. The project includes remodeling several entrances, painting the walls and hallways, and improving lighting and acoustics in the museum. The project should be completed for the public to view by July 4.
-New summer hours for the Courtyard and Pierpont Galleries are 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday; 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and 1-9 p.m. on Saturday. Both galleries are located in the building at 159 Pierpont Ave.
