SHARE POLICE, MOURNERS CLASH DURING FUNERAL

Young Arab mourners defied Israeli police Tuesday, hoisting Palestinian flags atop Islam's holiest shrine in Jerusalem during a funeral march for a hero of their uprising.

Police, firing teargas and rubber bullets, arrested at least 15 people at the end of the largely peaceful four-hour march through Arab east Jerusalem for guerrilla leader Omar al-Qassem, who died in hospital Sunday after 21 years in jail.Mourners threw stones at police, but witnesses disagreed on which came first, the stones or police fire. Rubber bullets wounded at least two Palestinians among the 2,000 mourners. The heat felled others.
