SHARE FREEDOM FESTIVAL BABY CONTEST WILL CHOOSE WINNERS FOR PARADE

The Freedom Festival Baby Contest is scheduled June 28 at the Oakhills Stake Center, 1600 N. Ninth East, Provo.

Children ages 0-42 months are eligible to enter. Judging will be based on looks, personality, cleanliness, overall appearance and response to judges.Parents can register their offspring in one of the following categories: 0-4 months, 5-8 months, 9-11 months, 12-15 months, 16-22 months, 23-28 months or 29-42 months.

Novelty categories for boys will include circus favorites, astronauts, presidents, international and Dezi Arnaz. Special categories for girls will include circus favorites, astronauts, first ladies, international and Lucille Ball.

Children will be videotaped throughout the day, and judging will be based on their costumes and how well they represent their characters. Each participant may enter only one novelty category.

Twins, triplets and other multiple-birth babies will compete for most and least look-alike titles. Judging will be based on looks and clothing. One winner will be selected in each category.

Winners will be announced that evening at 7 at the Oakhills Stake Center. Dr. Kent Gamette from the Provo Obstetrics Clinic will play host.

All children entered will receive an official certificate, a picture and sponsor-donated coupon. First-place and novelty winners will be featured in the Fourth of July Grand Parade.

Registration is $5.50 in advance or $8 at the door.

Registration forms are available at the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, the American Fork Hospital, Kiddie Kandids, the Provo Obstetrics Clinic and from any Utah County business displaying a Freedom Festival Baby Contest sign.
