R. Breck England and Donna Gene Parker of Bountiful High School have received excellence in teaching awards sponsored by the Brigham Young University Alumni Association and the Student Alumni Board.
Ballots were sent to more than 100 former Bountiful High School students now attending BYU. England and Parker received the highest marks of the 19 teachers named as the "best teacher I ever had" for their commitment to preparing students for work, university study and life.England is a business writing consultant in Bountiful and has done free-lance editing and writing. He is the author of "The Life and Thought of Orson Pratt" and of many published articles. He earned his undergraduate, graduate and doctorate degrees from the University of Utah.
Parker has been chairman of the English department at Bountiful High for 15 years. She received her bachelor's degree from BYU and has done extensive graduate work. She received numerous teaching awards, including recognition by the Davis County School Board in February for 20 years of "Excellence in the Teaching of English."
