It'll be two for the price of one day Saturday at Hogle Zoo, courtesy of KSFI (alias "FM-100") and Cream O'Weber for the 24th annual "Zoola Moola Days."

A special admission will be granted to visitors to the zoo who bring a Cream O'Weber bottle cap or side panel coupon. In addition, KSFI will be broadcasting live from the new "Zoo-Mobile." There will also be opportunities to register to have the mobile visit a child's school or birthday party. The zoo and sponsors are also raising money this summer to fund the display house that has been built for the "Golden Lion Tamarins."

In other "FM-100" news, the station will be giving away 25 Neal Diamond cassette tapes, as well as pairs of tickets to Diamond's Salt Lake concert between June 16-18.

-KCPX (FM-98.7) has a new personality in Tom Timmons. He arrived in Salt Lake City last week from Harford, Conn., and is now working the 7 p.m. until midnight shift weeknights at "Power-99."

If the new deejay has any special style, it's probably best described by the word smooth. Timmons wasted no time last week in interacting with Salt Lake's radio audience as the master of ceremonies for KCPX's "Singin' In the Shower" contest last Saturday at the Cottonwood Mall.

- In other KCPX news, the station has started its "Summertime Sweepstakes" promotion with $60,000 in prizes to be given out to lucky soft drink shoppers during the next several months.

"Power Packs" have been placed on over two million Coca-Cola products that include the opportunity for purchasers to win such summer-related prizes as passes to water or amusement parks, concerts, stereos and even cash.

- KCPX has also combined efforts with Wendy's Restaurants and KSTU, Ch. 13, to raise funds for the Arthritis Foundation with a 3-D special broadcast of the "The Mask" (a 1963 movie) June 16 at midnight.

Special 3-D glasses will be available at Wendy's for 99 cents and all proceeds will go to the Arthritis Foundation.

In other news, KCPX helps premiere more than 35 new movies in Salt Lake City each year. But, since "Star Trek 5" opens today and did not include any "radio station premiere" opportunities, the station has bought out one of the opening shows with 500 seats and gave listeners the chance to win admissions.
