Here's an artistic double bill: the IBM Gallery of Science and Art has two shows running concurrently through Aug. 26, presenting works from two distinguished American sources.

Some 63 paintings and works on paper are on show in "The Hyde Collection," highlights from the collection usually housed in the mansion-museum Hyde House in Glens Falls, N.Y. The museum is closed at pres-ent, awaiting the completion this fall of a new wing designed by architect Edward Larrabee Barnes."Discovering the Past" features 160 artifacts from the University Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology of the University of Pennsylvania, one of the leading museums of its kind.
