One of the victims of Wednesday's airline crash in Iowa is Paul Burnham, 53, a Denver-based United Airlines pilot who was born and grew up in Farmington.

Burnham was a passenger aboard United's Flight 232, flying from Denver to Chicago where he was scheduled to pilot another UAL flight, according to his sister, Diane Hancey, Farmington.Born in Farmington, Burnham graduated from Davis High School and the University of Utah, where he was in the Navy ROTC program. He was a Navy pilot for 20 years before retiring and going to work for United.

Besides his sister, Burnham is survived by his wife, Karlee Mordhorst Burnham, a former Salt Lake resident; three daughters, including Kathy Peterson of Salt Lake and daughters in Denver and Houston; his mother, Eliza "Billie" Burnham, Farmington; and a brother, Glen Burnham, Centerville.

Funeral arrangements had not been completed as of Thursday afternoon, according to Hancey.
