The Agent Orange fund has dispensed $12 million to thousands of Vietnam veterans, their families and support organizations, and up to $60 million more will be handed out in the next year, overseers of the fund say. The fund was created in 1984 when seven chemical companies agreed to pay $180 million to settle a class-action lawsuit brought by veterans and their families who claimed injuries from exposure to the chemical during the war. "We're moving very quickly. We're ahead of where I thought we would be at this time," director Dennis Rhoades said.
