Residents in the south part of Farmington were without power for about two hours Friday afternoon. Power was restored to most sections of the city by 4:30 p.m. The outage affected offices at the Davis School District and county courthouse in downtown Farmington.

A Utah Power & Light spokesman in Layton said the outage came from overloads on the system, particularly because of use of air conditioners and other equipment. Residents are encouraged to cut down on the use of large appliances during peak hot hours of the day.
