The Salt Lake Trappers walloped Pocatello 11-3 on Monday night, and picked up a half game on division-leading Butte when the Copper Kings were rained out.
The Trappers now trail Butte by five games in the Pioneer League's Southern Division.Clinging to a narrow 4-3 lead entering the seventh inning Monday, the Trappers scored four runs and added three more in the ninth to blow the game open.
Salt Lake's Mike Grace slammed his second home run in two days and Pat Waid also homered, both solo shots. Tony St. John pitched five innings for the Trappers and picked up the win, upping his record to 5-1. Reliever John Stewart got the save.
