Vice President Dan Quayle has decided to participate in the upcoming Senators Ski Cup at this northern Utah ski resort, sources in Utah and Washington confirmed Friday.
Park City Chamber of Commerce spokeswoman Nancy Volmer said Quayle is to fly to Utah late Jan. 12 and stay over in Park City to ski Jan. 13 in the annual fund-raising event for Salt Lake's Primary Children's Medical Center.Volmer said Quayle will be joined by 17 U.S. senators and other national dignitaries, including White House Chief of Staff John Sununu. Quayle's office confirmed Friday that the vice president is scheduled to fly to Utah for the event, but provided no further details.
Others planning to attend are former U.S. Energy Secretary John Harrington and Michael Boskin, chairman of the President's Council of Economic Advisers.
The Senators Ski Cup raised $150,000 for Primary Children's last year, Volmer said.
Quayle participated in the Ski Cup when he was a senator from Indiana, Volmer said.
