Ogden will celebrate its sister city of Hof, Germany, in the fourth annual downtown Winter Carnival Jan. 19-21.
New attractions include Snowball Softball, a ski-a-thon down 23rd Street and a cityscape of Hof.Traditional events include ski joring, yodeling, snow sculpturing, ice skating, a volks march, a corporate ski race, snowmobiling, hayrides and cookie decorating. A torchlight parade, fireworks and a parade of lights will open the festivities. Chef Wolfgang Stadelmann, of the Bavarian Chalet, and former director of food services for the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, will prepare authentic German foods.
The three-day event costs 50 cents per person or $3 per family.
