Stanley H. Heal, 75, died January 5, 1990 at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, Provo.

He was born November 22, 1914 in Provo, Utah, a son of Harry T. and Eva Ward Heal. He married Louise Firmage, March 9, 1938 in the Salt Lake Temple. Mr. Heal was a life long resident of Provo. He received his education in the Provo City schools and at Brigham Young University. At Provo High, he was a member of both the football and basketball teams. He had a fine singing voice and was in many operas and dramatic roles at Provo High School. In 1935-37 Mr. Heal served a mission for the LDS Church, serving in the British Mission. While serving in England he was chosen by the President of the European Mission, Apostle Richard R. Lyman, to be his executive secretary, a position which took him to all the European countries where LDS missions were established. On his return from his mission, he joined the newly opened Firmage Department Store in Provo and became a full partner and ramained with the company until his retirement in 1980. In 1970 Stan was elected to the Board of the Prudential Savings and Loan, where he served for 20 years. At the time of his death, he was a chairman of the Audit Committee of the Olympus Capital Corporation. He was an outdoor enthusiast, especially active in golf, fishing and skiing. He was active in many civic groups. He was a past president of the Provo Kiwanis Club, past president of the Riverside Country Club and its predecessor the Radar Club. With all of his business and civic duties, he was first and last a devoted husband-father-grandfather-great-grandfather. He will be missed in all of these roles, but most of all he will be missed as an understanding friend and confident.

He is survived by his wife, Provo; one son, two daughters, Sandra H. Price, Provo; Katherine H. Knight, Grand Junction, Colorado; Stanley F. Heal and wife, Patti, Provo; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, brother, Ray M. Heal, Provo.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 9, 1990 at 2 p.m. at the Berg Drawing Room Chapel, 185 East Center, Provo. Friends may call at the mortuary Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services. Interment, Provo City Cemetery.
