SHARE MIDEASTERN LIFE IS OCTOBER FOCUS OF BOOKS ALIVE

Life in the Middle East is the October focus of the Books Alive program, a book, video and discussion group that is free to the public.

Chosen for this session is "Women and the Family in the Middle East" by Dr. Elizabeth Warnock Fernea, lecturer of Middle Eastern studies and English at the University of Texas at Austin.Three group discussion dates, all free to the public and held at the Cedar City Library, will complement participants' reading of the book. A video titled "The Role of the Family in the Middle East" will accompany the first discussion Wednesday, Oct. 10, at 7 p.m., while "A Veiled Revolution," a video also by Fernea, will direct the second discussion Wednesday, Oct. 24, at 7 p.m.

The final group session is scheduled Tuesday, Oct. 30, at 7 p.m. and will feature guest lecturer S.S. Moorty, professor of language and literature at SUSC.
