SHARE HEARINGS WILL FOCUS ON USE OF TRUST LANDS

The Division of State Lands and Forestry has scheduled three public hearings to discuss issues surrounding management of 160,000 acres of school trust lands in the Book Cliffs area of eastern Utah.

Meetings are scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 16, at 7 p.m. at the Star Hall in Moab; Thursday, Oct. 18, at 7 p.m. at the District Courthouse in Vernal; and Tuesday, Oct. 23, at 7 p.m. at the Department of Natural Resources auditorium, 1636 W. North Temple.The planning meeting will consider issues such as roadless areas, mineral leasing, cabin site development, wilderness designation, off-highway vehicle use and big game management.
