Herbert F. Murray Jr. died Oct. 15, 1990, in Salt Lake City.

Mr. Murray, 78, was a former member of the KSL television and radio editorial board and wrote more than 500 on-air editorials, many of which were broadcast nationally.Mr. Murray was born Aug. 17, 1912, in New York City. He was educated at Westchester Military Academy, Peekskill, N.Y.; the University of Southern California; UCLA; and Goddard College in Vermont.

Mr. Murray moved to Salt Lake City in 1970 as associate editor of the Ensign magazine. In 1972 he began working for KSL. In addition to editorials, he produced the "What's Right with America" program and "Public Pulse."

Friends may call at Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary, 2350 E. 1300 South, Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and at the Monument Park 17th Ward Chapel, 1795 Crestview Drive, Friday at 11 a.m. His funeral will begin at noon Friday.
