George Utley, 87, died Tuesday, October 16, 1990 in an Ogden hospital.
Born November 14, 1892 in Barnsley, England, son of George Henry and Emma Bashforth Utley. On December 24, 1931, he married Florence Violet Bridger in Hull, England; the marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He had been a plasterer in construction work and a custodian at the School for the Deaf. Member of the LDS Branch for the Deaf, where he served as a High Priest, home teacher, and counselor in the Branch Presidency. He also served as a temple worker.Survived by wife, Ogden; one son, Brian G. Utley, Boca Raton, Flor.; one daughter, Janet S. Perry, Phoenix, Ariz.; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; sister, Edith Jenkinson, Wombwell, England. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret Carlsen.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, 11 a.m., in the Meyers Mortuary Chapel. Friends may call at the mortuary Friday, 6-8 p.m. and Saturday, 10-10:45 a.m. Interment will be in Ogden City Cemetery.
