David K. Edwards, 84, died October 17, 1990 in a Salt Lake hospital due to a heart condition.
Born August 24, 1906 in Salt Lake City, Utah, son of George Zahnor and Mattie Ford Edwards. Married Maxine Scheiber in 1929; she preceded him in death. Dave was a prominent owner-operator of many Salt Lake City theaters. He has been awarded the Humanitarian and Showmanship Award from the Motion Picture Industry. Member of Salt lake Country Club, Kaibab Lodge #25, F.&A.M., and the Ambassador Club. `Uncle Dave' was always generous in his associations with the less fortunate.Survived by two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Maxine) Fehr; and Mrs. K. Ray (Daveen) Hammond, both Salt Lake City; five grandchildren; and many friends, including Ardie Johnson, close companion for many years.
Graveside funeral services will be held Saturday, October 20, at 2 p.m., at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 1342 East 500 South. At Dave's request, there will be no viewing. Those wishing may make contributions to the Intermountain Unit of Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children, in his name. Funeral directors, Evans & Early Mortuary.
