Rulon Joseph Swenson, age 87, died Friday, October 19, 1990 in Provo, Utah.

Born September 17, 1903 in Spanish Fork to Albert and Alsina Nielson Swenson. He married Katie Rhea Christensen on December 20, 1922 in Spanish Fork. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He received his education in Spanish Fork schools. He was a cattleman and rancher all f his life. He was an accomplished horseman, and in younger days, did some Rodeo. Charter member of the Diamond Fork Riding Club. Recipient of the Old Timers Cattleman's Award and State Cattleman's Association Award. Served on the Spanish Fork Livestock Association Board for 19 years and served as President. He was a High Priest in the LDS Church, and enjoyed singing in the ward choir. He enjoyed herding cattle and riding the range.Survived by his wife of Spanish Fork; two sons and one daughter: Mrs. Ronald (Shirley Rhea) Beck; Clyde Albert Swenson; Cleve Hyrum Swenson, all Spanish Fork. His daughter, Mrs. Katherine Lenore Brockbank preceded him in death; also survived by 16 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, at 1 p.m., in the Spanish Fork 4th Ward Chapel. Friends may call Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Huff-Linde Funeral Home, and Tuesday at the mortuary until 12:45. Burial will be in the Spanish Fork City Cemetery.
