CLAPTON MAY WED ARGENTINE

There's speculation in Argentina that Eric Clapton is about to remarry. If the wedding comes to pass, it will be an interesting union since Clapton, 45, speaks no Spanish and his alleged bride-to-be, Ana Maria Roques, 24, speaks no English. Clapton interrupted his tour in Brazil Wednesday by making an unannounced return to Buenos Aires and, according to Argentine newspapers, on Thursday night he asked for Roques's hand. She is a receptionist he met at the exclusive Lola restaurant while Clapton was touring Argentina on Oct. 5. A Clapton associate said the unscheduled stop was a "private visit" and he would not comment on marriage reports. According to Radio Mitre of Buenos Aires, however, before he returned to Brazil Friday morning Clapton said, "I'm getting married in March."
