Tom Brokaw sounds like he might like to drop his anchor duties.
"What I'd like to do is always keep my hand in television but I would not like to be on every day," the NBC newsman told People magazine."It seems to most people to be a very glamorous job and many days it is. (But) it's very hard to even think about taking a day off in the course of a month because it's very competitive and the expectations are so high for all three (CBS's Dan Rather and ABC's Peter Jennings and himself)."
Brokaw says the pressure of the job makes him feel like a gerbil. "We're in a cage running around and around," he says. "After a while, no matter how much they pay you, you get to think you'd like a whole different life."
