Salt Lake County Commission candidate Randy Horiuchi is convinced there's a deck being built somewhere with his name on it.
"My signs are disappearing," he said of the 4-foot-square masonite and plywood signs scattered around the county as part of his campaign for M. Tom Shimizu's commission seat.Candidate's signs are frequently vandalized during a campaign. Horiuchi does not suspect any official campaign sabotage, he said, but "someone is taking the entire sign and throwing it in pickups and driving off."
The signs cost about $25 each. "If anyone wants the signs after the election to finish off a deck, please let me know and I'll give them the wood. But please wait (until) after the election - I need the name ID," he said.
