The Utah Division of Surplus Property has obtained more than 2,000 new sweat shirts through the Federal Property Assistance Program. The sweat shirts, which are yellow and have full zippers and hoods, will be donated to the Salt Lake City Homeless Shelter.

The division has long assisted the shelter, according to division director Bill Arseneau, aiding in the construction and site location for the temporary shelter while the new facilities were being established. "We have obtained hundreds of wool blankets, army cots, school supplies, furnishings, equipment, portable buildings and dental equipment," he said."We read almost daily about families and individuals who, often through no fault of their own, find themselves struggling just to stay warm or just to live. We hope these sweat shirts will offer some warmth and comfort during the winter months ahead."
