In what is being called a "must win" for both teams, Southern Utah takes on Cal Poly SLO today at 2 p.m.
Both teams are tied for second in the Western Football Conference with 2-1 records. Another loss for either would likely drop them out of the conference race. Cal State Northridge is in first with a 3-0 mark."It's the game of the year for us now," said SU Coach Jack Bishop. "It's going to be one heck of a football game - it all comes down to this game for us."
The Mustangs, ranked in the top 20 for most of the season, stand 6-1 on the season, their only loss coming to Sacramento State two weeks ago. The T-Birds defeated Sac State 38-31 earlier.
Southern Utah is about as balanced as possible with an average of 204 yards rushing and 208 yards passing. The T-Birds rank 12th nationally in total offense.
