Western Dairy has recalled bottles of Cream O'Weber whole milk after a woman claimed she found a capsule in a container purchased at a Layton service station, according to dairy officials.

Chief Executive Officer Leland Anderson said the recall was precautionary and that there have been no reports of illness or other tampering."Rather than raise any further questions, we've just decided to pull the whole lot off the shelves until we can get to the bottom of this," Anderson said Friday night.

The recall was initiated after Kathy Walters, of Morgan, called a local television station to report she had found a capsule in a 12-ounce bottle of whole milk she bought at an unidentified Layton service station.

The station notified Western Dairy's quality control officer.

Anderson said the capsule reportedly was a gelatin-like substance that "was empty but had been taped up."

Anderson said the bottles bear the lot number "49-08" and have a Nov. 1 expiration date.

He said anyone who has purchased that product can receive a refund or exchange at the local Western Dairy outlet.
