Two Utahns were killed in separate traffic accidents this weekend.
Killed Friday:Eric Douglas Jordan, 29, Park City.
A 26-year-old Salt Lake woman was also killed Saturday. Officials had not released her name at press time.
Jordan died Friday afternoon when his car collided head-on with another vehicle while crossing the Deer Creek Reservoir dam.
He was apparently northbound above Provo Canyon when his car collided with a southbound pickup truck driven by David E. Velarde, 44, according to Utah Highway Patrol trooper Mike Bergin. The accident occurred at about 5:30 p.m.
The Salt Lake woman was killed Saturday when the car she was driving jumped a guardrail on I-15, rolled and landed on the 2100 South exit.
Utah Highway Patrol trooper Jeffrey R. Rose said the driver was thrown from the car when it flipped through the median between I-15 and the 1300/2100 South exit.
She was taken to LDS Hospital and later died of internal injuries.
Rose said the driver swerved to avoid a car that had cut in front of her, lost control, and crossed two lanes of traffic before hitting the guardrail.
The car traveled about 80 feet before landing in the median and flipping onto the exit, a witness said. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt.
