Continued warm weather is forecast for the Salt Lake, Ogden and Provo area, with highs of near 70 degrees expected Tuesday.

The temperature was expected to reach 70 to 75 degrees Monday, according to meteorologists at the Salt Lake office of the National Weather Service. The low Monday night will be in the 40s.But a storm is expected by Wednesday evening, and trick-or-treaters might be wise to carry umbrellas. On Thursday a significant storm is forecast and will likely continue through Friday. The snow level will drop to 5,000 feet or lower, said William J. Alder, meteorologist in charge of the Salt Lake office of the National Weather Service.

The temperature hit a high of 79 degrees Sunday, exceeding a record 75 on the same date in 1937 at the Salt Lake International Airport. A year ago it was 39 degrees. The normal high for Oct. 29 is 60 degrees. Eleven record-high temperatures were reported Sunday.

A total of 0.69 of an inch of precipitation has fallen at the airport this month; the normal is 1.02 inches.
