Betty Sommers Peterson, 69, died Saturday, October 6, 1990 in Ogden.

Born July 30, 1921 in Devils Slide, Utah, daughter of Daniel and Leona Wilson Sommers. Married Mack C. Peterson in Morgan, Utah, August 27, 1941. Graduated from Morgan High School, attended Utah State University. She had been a high school cheerleader, and was involved in Opera and drama; she was also a cheerleader at USU. Member LDS Church, Milton 1st Ward, served as MIA President and as Cub Scout Leader. She had served as president of the PTA, and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Active with the Junior Posse and the American Heart Fund. She ran a cafe in Morgan, was a homemaker, and was actively involved in the betterment of music and arts in the communittee.Survived by husband, Morgan; two sons and four daughters, Judy P. Brandt (Claren); Donise Peterson; Brad Peterson (Annette); Penny P. Taylor (Jim); Kirk C. Peterson (Lisa), all Morgan; Heidi P. Taylor (Bobbye), Plano, Texas; 22 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Glenna S. Lundon, Albuguerque, N.M.; two sisters-in-law, Nola H. Sommers; Eileen P. Johnson; brother-in-law, John C. Johnson, all Morgan. Preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 12 noon, in the Milton Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary in Morgan, Tuesday, 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday, from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Interment, Milton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Bonneville Dialysis Center, St. Benedicts Hospital in Ogden or the Utah Diabetes Association.
