The Zivio Ethnic Arts Ensemble and the International Folkdance Club will present the First Intermountain Hungarian Tanchaz Weekend, two evenings of traditional Hungarian village dancing.
The Hungarian word tanchaz means "dance house" and signifies a traditional evening of Hungarian village dancing. The first tanchaz will be Friday, Nov. 23, from 7:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes School, 1065 E. 700 South, Salt Lake City. The second tanchaz will be Saturday, Nov. 24, from 8:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. at the First Unitarian Church, 569 S. 1300 East, Salt Lake City.Tickets will be available at the door at a cost of $4 for each evening. Informal dance instruction will be available both evenings. More formal dance instruction will be available each afternoon before the dances.
